The happiness that is genuinely satisfying is accompanied by the fullest exercise of our faculties and the fullest realization of the world in which we live.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Take care of your body with steadfast fidelity. The soul must see through these eyes alone, and if they are dim, the whole world is clouded.~ Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe ~ Are You a Sensitive Person? The Truth About Sensitive Skin Click on the arrow to listen to this audio article Does your skin tingle or tighten unexpectedly or at certain times in life? Do you find that you have to buy certain and very specific products to keep your skin looking its best? Does stress play a role in the condition and beauty of your skin? Do you often find that even with the utmost care, your face is dry, itchy, red, and flaky? If you have replied yes to these questions, you have sensitive skin. While this may seem an apparent fact, many people have no idea that skin comes in different types. Of course, we can see that some skins are different colors, some burn more easily than others, and some are more susceptible to acne and other skin conditions than others. However, the differences span far beyond these things. Your skin, according to genetics and your environment, can not only be normal, but also oily, dry, combination, or sensitive. For people who have sensitive skin, this can be a curse. Sensitive skin needs lots of care not only for your appearance, but also to keep you healthy. When you have sensitive skin, you are more prone to infections and other health and medical problems. You may also be allergic to certain items, which can cause breathing problems alongside skin rashes and itching. If you have sensitive skin, it is best to see a doctor and talk about how you can best take care of your skin, especially the skin on your face. Depending on why your skin is sensitive, doctors may suggest a number of treatment options. However, whatever the case may be, you need to find products made especially for sensitive skin. By using these products, you can stop rashes, rosacea, acne, and other medical conditions from out breaking. Look for soaps that are mild and thus more gentle. You should also find towels and hand clothes that aren't too rough for your skin. In extreme cases, your doctor may suggest other lifestyle changes as well. Certain foods can trigger outbreaks, so work to improve your diet. Also, try to stay indoors when the winter climate is especially harsh, and not only use sunscreen every time you go outdoors, but wear protective clothing as well. By protecting your sensitive skin now, you can avoid more serious medical problems, like skin cancer, in the future. Your doctor can give you more information about how to deal with sensitive skin. While this can happen to the best of us, it doesn't mean you should drop the ball altogether when it comes to staying fit. What people need to realize is that staying active and eating right are critical for long-term health and wellness -- and that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The more you know about how your body responds to your lifestyle choices, the better you can customize a nutrition and exercise plan that is right for you. When you eat well, increase your level of physical activity, and exercise at the proper intensity, you are informing your body that you want to burn a substantial amount of fuel. This translates to burning fat more efficiently for energy. In other words, proper eating habits plus exercise equals fast metabolism, which, in turn gives you more energy throughout the day and allows you to do more physical work with less effort. The true purpose of exercise is to send a repetitive message to the body asking for improvement in metabolism, strength, aerobic capacity and overall fitness and health. Each time you exercise, your body responds by upgrading its capabilities to burn fat throughout the day and night, Exercise doesn't have to be intense to work for you, but it does need to be consistent. I recommend engaging in regular cardiovascular exercise four times per week for 20 to 30 minutes per session, and resistance training four times per week for 20 to 25 minutes per session. This balanced approach provides a one-two punch, incorporating aerobic exercise to burn fat and deliver more oxygen, and resistance training to increase lean body mass and burn more calories around the block. Here's a sample exercise program that may work for you: * Warm Up -- seven to eight minutes of light aerobic activity intended to increase blood flow and lubricate and warm-up your tendons and joints. * Resistance Training -- Train all major muscle groups. One to two sets of each exercise. Rest 45 seconds between sets. * Aerobic Exercise -- Pick two favorite activities, they could be jogging, rowing, biking or cross-country skiing, whatever fits your lifestyle. Perform 12 to 15 minutes of the first activity and continue with 10 minutes of the second activity. Cool down during the last five minutes. * Stretching -- Wrap up your exercise session by stretching, breathing deeply, relaxing and meditating. When starting an exercise program, it is important to have realistic expectations. Depending on your initial fitness level, you should expect the following changes early on. * From one to eight weeks -- Feel better and have more energy. * From two to six months -- Lose size and inches while becoming leaner. Clothes begin to fit more loosely. You are gaining muscle and losing fat. * After six months -- Start losing weight quite rapidly. Once you make the commitment to exercise several times a week, don't stop there. You should also change your diet and/or eating habits,' says Zwiefel. Counting calories or calculating grams and percentages for certain nutrients is impractical. Instead, I suggest these easy-to-follow guidelines: * Eat several small meals (optimally four) and a couple of small snacks throughout the day * Make sure every meal is balanced -- incorporate palm-sized proteins like lean meats, fish, egg whites and dairy products, fist-sized portions of complex carbohydrates like whole-wheat bread and pasta, wild rice, multigrain cereal and potatoes, and fist-sized portions of vegetable and fruits. * Limit your fat intake to only what's necessary for adequate flavor * Drink at least eight 8-oz. glasses of water throughout the day * I also recommend that you take a multi-vitamin each day to ensure you are getting all the vitamins and minerals your body needs. I suppose that's all I can think of for now. I should extend my thanks to a doctor friend of mine. Without him, I wouldn't be able to write this article, or keep my sanity. Enjoy life, we all deserve it. Free Audio Articles For Your Listening Pleasure. Rest Your Eyes, Sit Back, And Relax! Or, did you know that stones possess the smallest amount of vibration of any facet on the planet? Well, that’s what most of the healing experts have discovered, leading to the introduction of the so-called “heated stone massage”. Heated stone massage, also known as la stone massage, is widely appreciated and accepted in the healthcare and bodywork industry today. Several clinics, spas, fitness centers, and other healthcare establishments have in fact considered it a very effective alternative to the regular massage therapy. Well, no wonder that today, heated stone massage is applied anywhere on earth. The History of Heated Stone Massage Not much is written about the history of heated stone massage, but according to some researches, this healing therapy originated from the ancient healing techniques of the Native Americans. Also, there are some evidences to show that its origin can be traced back to the Japanese therapeutic traditions, as well as the Eastern Indian philosophy. Whatever the evidences for the origin of heated stone massage therapy may suggest, one main fact remains, that is, heated or la stone massage is considered as one of the most effective and most recognized form of healing therapy. Benefits of the Therapy As what I’ve mentioned earlier, the heated stone massage offers a number of benefits for the receiver. Included in the list are the following: * Promotes deeper relaxation * Reduces stress and tension * Provide relief to stiff muscles * Enhances circulation * Soothes the nervous system * Enhances the metabolic rate * Ease bloating caused by PMS * Relieve chronic back and neck pain * Opens tight joints * Frees blocked energies in the body The Massage Procedure In heated stone massage, stones of all shapes and sizes are used. These stones are heated to varying temperatures before you arrive for the actual massage. The temperature usually ranges from 0- to 140- degrees Fahrenheit. While waiting on these stones to reach such desired temperature, it is usual in heated stone massage that the body of the receiver will be treated with an aromatherapy oils to create the desired mood. The therapist will then apply some traditional Swedish strokes, while holding a heated stone. The stone will only be replaced once it cools. Also, the therapists may leave the stones in certain areas of the body, particularly along your spine. Sometimes, the stones are placed on your hands, or between your toes to enhance the energy flow in the body. There are, however, some instances that cold stones are used, but this depends on the condition of the receiver. Its worth noting that during the heated stone massage procedure, the therapists and the clients themselves will notice certain changes on the body temperature, including the heart and breathing rates. What usually happens is that the heart and breathing rates will rise and drop. This is also true with the body temperature. But, there’s nothing to worry though, for heated stone massage is used to indicate such changes to determine the flow of the blood and the exchange of blood and oxygen in the body, allowing a sense of well-being in the end. That’s basically how the heated stone massage works. Free Spa Style Slimming Body Wraps This is a step-by-step guide
